Ef ég hefði verið ... Reykjavík 1950-1970, both a book and exhibition, is a visual history of daily life in Reykjavík, Iceland during the 1950s and 1960s. It is also a constructed memory of a childhood imagined — the title in English is “If I had Been ...” – and these “memories” are depicted as details of photographs found in the Reykjavík Photography Museum archive. In the book, the original photographs and the details are shown side by side. The book is 160 pages, hardcover, published by Crymogea in Reykjavík in July 2015, with an introduction by Sigrún Alba Sigurdardóttir. Review by Einar Falur Ingólffson. Review by Kristján Guðjónsson.
